Accordingly, Blakehurst is known for providing individualized assisted living, offering memory care, rehabilitation, and basic help with everything from bathing to taking prescribed medications. Founded in 1993, Blakehurst’s 40-acre campus is equipped with an indoor pool and spa, fitness center, library, movie theater, putting green, and much more. Blakehurst also provides independent living for seniors who don’t require extra assistance. Located in Towson, Maryland, Blakehurst serves the greater Baltimore area.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 7, 2022, Blakehurst discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Blakehurst determined that an unauthorized actor accessed this sensitive information. On December 5, 2022, Blakehurst began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Financial information (e.g., account number)
- Health insurance information
- Medical information
