Over time, eCapital has expanded their operations by acquiring capital finance firms across North America and the United Kingdom. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, eCapital employs over 500 individuals in six different offices.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On July 22, 2022, eCapital discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, eCapital concluded that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information. On August 8, 2022, eCapital began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
