These tooling solutions involve 56 patented tool designs granted to Wilson Tool International as of 2021. Founded in 1966 in a basement shop in St. Paul, Minnesota, Wilson Tool International has expanded to include offices and manufacturing plants in eight countries across three continents. Currently, Wilson Tool International is headquartered in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and employs over 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 13, 2022, Wilson Tool International discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Wilson Tool International determined that an unauthorized actor may have gained access to this sensitive information via its servers. On July 25, 2022, Wilson Tool International began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information has not been disclosed by Wilson Tool International. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial information
  • Medical information
  • Taxpayer information
  • Personal identification number issued by the United States IRS
