As a title insurance company, Security 1st Title offers a variety of services including contract services, closing services, tax-deferred exchanges, and title insurance. Additionally, Security 1st Title can assist prospective and current homeowners with residential transactions, refinancing, new construction, and foreclosures. Founded in 1944, Security 1st Title began as a title insurance company and has expanded to offer qualified intermediary services and 1031 exchanges services. Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, Security 1st Title employs approximately 300 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On December 14, 2023, Security 1st Title discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Security 1st Title determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on September 19, 2022. On December 21, 2023, Security 1st Title began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
