Pandol Brothers Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Pandol Brothers, Inc. (“Pandol”) regarding its recent data breach. The Pandol data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Pandol is a family-owned fruit farming and production company based in California. Founded in 1941, Pandol partners with growers across California and Southern Hemisphere to produce a variety of grapes, as well as blueberries, apples, cherries, citrus, melons, and other produce. Exporting fruit globally for over 50 years, Pandol’s markets include Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia. Headquartered in Delano, California, Pandol employs over 10 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In March 2023, Pandol discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Pandol determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and copied this sensitive information between March 20 and March 27, 2023. Recently, Pandol began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Pandol. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Government issued ID number (e.g., State ID card number, tax ID number, passport number, military ID number)
  • Account number/credit or debit card number, in combination with password/access code
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Unique biometric data
  • Genetic data
