WHAT HAPPENED?
On September 24, 2023, Morrison Community Hospital discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Morrison Community Hospital determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information on September 24, 2023. While much information is still unknown about the breach, online reports indicate that a known ransomware group has taken responsibility for the breach and may have published some of the stolen data on the dark web. On October 19, 2023, Morrison Community Hospital posted a notice of the data breach on its websites, which states that it will send notice to impacted individuals once its investigation is complete.
