Generational Equity Data Breach Investigation

Accordingly, Generational Equity’s services include business valuation, merger and acquisition advisory, guidance in buying or selling a business, value enhancement, and wealth management. Through its seasoned team of professionals, Generational Equity serves small business in the automotive, energy, healthcare, retail, business, financial services, industrial, technology, engineering, food and beverage, and manufacturing industries. Headquartered in Richardson, Texas, Generational Equity has 15 office locations across the United States and employs over 200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On or around February 16, 2023, Generational Equity discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Generational Equity determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between February 15 and February 16, 2023. On October 5, 2023, Generational Equity began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Credit card information
