WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 31, 2023, Financial Asset Management Systems discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Financial Asset Management Systems determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired the sensitive information belonging to Navient Portfolio Management on or around March 31, 2023. On September 14, 2023, Financial Asset Management Systems began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted include:
