WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 21, 2023, The Mather Group discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, The Mather Group determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by installing malware on its network. On September 14, 2023, The Mather Group began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license
- Financial information (e.g., financial account numbers and IRS PINs)
- Medical information
