Since its founding in 1998, Bloom Health Centers has offered diagnostic, treatment, and preventative care services from psychiatry and talk therapy to esketamine treatments and transcranial magnetic simulation. Furthermore, Bloom Health Centers collaboratively utilizes proprietary technology, advanced therapies, and top to bottom insurance acceptance to provide accessible, quality, mental health services to its patients.4 Bloom Health Centers serves individuals in the states of Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware through its 12 office locations as well as online through telehealth appointments.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On July 5, 2023, Bloom Health Centers determined that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Bloom Health Centers determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a clinician’s Microsoft account on or around June 23, 2023. On September 11, 2023, Bloom Health Centers began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Health insurance information
- Medical information (e.g., diagnosis and medication details)
