Capital Health is a healthcare system based in New Jersey. Comprised of two hospitals, an outpatient facility, and various primary and specialty care practices, Capital Health offers a wide array of medical services to patients across the region.2 Services include brain and spine care, breast care, cancer care, digestive health services, emergency services, heart and vascular services, lung care, maternity services, orthopedics, pediatrics, surgery, and urology. Headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey, Capital Health has more than 60 additional locations throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania and employs over 1,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In November 2023, Capital Health experienced a cybersecurity incident that impacted the functionality of its systems. In response, Capital Health engaged third-party forensic and information technology experts to assess the situation and regain system functionality. While much information is still unknown about the incident, Capital Health’s systems have since been restored, and all operations have returned to normal. As of January 8, 2024, Capital Health has not acknowledged whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
