WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Qorvo discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Qorvo determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information in August 2023. On December 21, 2023, Qorvo began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Qorvo. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license, state ID card, or tribal ID card number
- Financial information (e.g., account number or credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account)
- Medical information (e.g., medical history, physical or mental condition, or medical treatment)
- Taxpayer ID number
- IRS Identity Protection Personal Identification Number
