WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 12, 2023, Middlefield Bank discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Middlefield Bank determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information between April 11, 2023 and April 12, 2023. On December 21, 2023, Middlefield Bank began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted by the breach. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Biometric data
  • Date of birth
  • Financial account number
  • Credit or debit card number
  • Username and password
  • Medical information
