Hasz Fund Control Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Hasz Fund Control, Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The Hasz data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT HASZ FUND CONTROL, INC.:

Hasz is a financial services company providing loans and money lending services for construction projects. Founded in 1984, Hasz specializes in fund control, inspections, and cost analysis for various construction projects. Additionally, Hasz helps connect banks and lenders to construction companies. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Hasz employs approximately 10 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In late March 2023, Hasz discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Hasz determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a ransomware attack. On September 20, 2023, Hasz began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted include:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Address
  • Financial information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Username and password
  • Taxpayer identification number
  • Vehicle license number
