Additionally, Regal Securities offers its clients access to over 2,000 mutual funds, retirements plans, money market accounts, trust services, and alternative investments. Founded in 1977, Regal Securities began when George Bokios started one of the first discount brokerage firms in the Glenview area. In 1993, Regal Securities began functioning as a national deep discount firm specializing in stock and options transactions.3 Headquartered in Glenview, Illinois, Regal Securities employs approximately 70 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In February 2023, Regal Securities discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Regal Securities determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between January 31 and February 3, 2023. On August 25, 2023, Regal Securities began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account number
