WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 6, 2023, Lehigh Valley Health Network discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Lehigh Valley Health Network determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack. Although much information remains unknown, on February 20, 2023, Lehigh Valley Health Network revealed in a statement that it had experienced a data breach involving personal identifiable information and protected health information, including patient images for radiation treatment.
