WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 8, 2022, JAKKS Pacific discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, JAKKS Pacific determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack on February 18, 2022. On December 15, 2022, JAKKS Pacific began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number/national identity number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Financial and banking information
- Health records
