Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating CWGS Group, which does business as Camping World and Good Sam, regarding its recent data breach. The Camping World and Good Sam data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undisclosed number of individuals.

CWGS Group is a recreational vehicle (RV) and outdoor retailer that operates commercially as Camping World and Good Sam. Since 1966, Camping World has offered recreational vehicle products and services to consumers through its website and over 185 Camping World SuperCenters nationwide. Growing from a single store in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Camping World is now the largest retailer of recreational vehicles, accessories, and services. Headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, Camping World employs over 10,000 employees.
Good Sam is a membership organization for recreational vehicle owners offering a wide variety of money-saving discounts and services. Included in Good Sam’s services are roadside assistance, extended warranty plans, insurance, and travel assistance programs. Good Sam also offers its members savings and discounts in its nationwide network of RV parks. With over 1.8 million members, Good Sam is the world’s largest RV organization.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 9, 2022, Camping World and Good Sam discovered that they had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in their systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through their investigation, Camping World and Good Sam determined that an unauthorized actor accessed this sensitive information from January 14, 2022 to February 13, 2022. On November 7, 2022, Camping World and Good Sam began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- State, federal, or foreign ID number
- Tax ID number
- Financial account number (with and without account access information)
- Debit or credit card number information
- Digital/electronic signature
- Username and password
