WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 11, 2022, a vendor of Fulton Bank informed Fulton Bank that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information of Fulton Bank’s clients may have been accessed and acquired. The vendor that experienced the data breach was Overby-Seawell Company, which provides Fulton Bank ongoing verification that Fulton Bank’s mortgage clients maintain property insurance. Overby-Seawell Company informed Fulton Bank that, on July 5, 2022, an unauthorized actor gained access to its network and acquired sensitive information belonging to Fulton Bank clients. On August 30, 2022, Fulton Bank began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Loan number
- Addresses
- Loan details (amount and maturity date)
- Insurance policy information
