WHAT HAPPENED?
On January 12, 2024, The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee’s email account between December 14, 2023, and January 12, 2024. On April 17, 2024, The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
